NOTE: If you see white spots on top and/or little hard beads or grains in your Bomade there is nothing wrong with it, these ARE NOT contaminants, mold or rancidity – nope.
Grainy butter is simply a result of temperature fluctuation. Skin butters like Shea and Cocoa have different melting points. The reason our Bomade is so nourishing is because we have over 30% Shea butter. Shea butter contains fatty acids and vitamins throughout, which is what your skin and hair love about the balm. Occasionally during manufacturing as the Shea butter is cooling, fatty acids start to become solid faster than the Shea itself and crystals form. They will melt when rubbed between your fingers with your body heat. Likewise, Summer temperatures can cause Shea butter to melt while it’s shipped to you, forming harmless crystals; it’s a function of the lush Shea butter.
